Tell me a tale and pour me a glass Spare no expense on the wine I’ll eat from the center and do what I please I’m living on borrowed time I can’t shake the feeling there’s no sense in kneeling To pray to that maker of mine The old man upstairs is a loan shark And I’m living on borrowed time I cannot run from the reaper And I can’t buy a miracle pill When all’s said and done, it’s much cheaper To spend my last dime on a thrill Call each and every last one of my friends I’ll give them my love on the line I won’t drag them down with the burden Repaying my borrowed time I cannot run from the reaper And can’t buy a miracle pill When all’s said and done, it’s much cheaper To spend my last dime on a thrill When I’ve had my fill I’ll walk up the hill With stone angels watching me climb To the permanent home where they’ll bury my bones Cuz I’ve run out of borrowed time I’ve run out of borrowed time

Firewalker 03:22
VERSE The Good Lord sent another plague Like he’s been doin all my days Empty wallet, feelin’ shame Empty table, layin’ blame Every morning brings a fight But I’m still precious in his sight Because I’m passin every test He made me stronger than the rest CHORUS There’s a name for the one Who walks on the embers And won’t get burned There’s a name for the one Proud of the battle scars She has earned I am faithful and tall I am the one that they call Firewalker Firewalker VERSE Some are dealt a winning hand I used to try to understand Now I don’t mourn that I have not I got a name that they ain’t got CHORUS BRIDGE At the end of the road is my reward At the end of the road is my reward At the end of the road is my reward At the end of the road is my reward CHORUS
3.
VERSE I can’t buy you what you’re wantin’ But I’ll give you what you need Roof above you, floor below you Grow a garden from a seed I can’t shower you with silver, gold, or diamond rings But darlin’ if you’re ready I can love you steady VERSE I can’t start your heart on fire But I’ll always keep the flame I will tend it ever faithful Honoring you with my name I can’t keep you up all night ‘til the sparrows start to call But darlin’, if you’re ready I can love you steady CHORUS I can love you steady I can love you true Like the daytime fades And the evenin’ falls And the sun bows to the moon VERSE I can’t be another lover I can only be myself Stark and plain and ever-present Like the sugar on the shelf I can’t be your hero or have buildings named for me But darlin’, if you’re ready I can love you steady CHORUS
4.
Runaway 03:45
VERSE His watch is always running slow The time ain’t right for loving me She broke the windows of his soul Repairs will come eventually PRE-CHORUS Same old story with a different spin So I find I fell in love again CHORUS With another Run, run, runaway Run, run, runaway VERSE He says he don’t deserve my love And that I’m truly good as gold Too precious and he’s too afraid Lip service getting mighty old PRE-CHORUS Same old story with a different spin So I find I fell in love again CHORUS BRIDGE Well it’s hard to swallow and it’s hard to speak Oh his heart is hollow, and his soul is weak Oh, the truth would surely set us free It ain’t him – it ain’t him it’s me CHORUS But he’s gonna Run, run, runaway Run, run, runaway Run, run, runaway Run, run, runaway
5.
VERSE Holes in the bottom of our shoes And patches on our jeans Hearts are sewn-up at the seams But the threads are strong And our color doesn’t bleed VERSE We let them spill the wine We let them wear us thin Careless lovers took their share But we saved ourselves From lives beyond repair CHORUS So we won’t trade in And we won’t toss aside We’ll take better care the second time Secondhand love VERSE You’re softer than the night Up in the desert sky Better than a storefront dress You are priceless You fit me best CHORUS BRIDGE Let’s put on tonight And we’ll feel just right CHORUS And we won’t trade in We won’t toss aside We’ll take better care the second time Secondhand love Oh we won’t trade in And we won’t toss aside We’ll take better care the second time Secondhand love
6.
Higher 03:28
VERSE Thank you for making love easy I forgot that I could be carefree Like a little red wagon This is how a love's supposed to be CHORUS You swing me up higher (higher) You swing me up higher (higher) Ev'ry little minute of ev'ry single day You push and I’m higher (higher) Swing me up higher (higher) And I got a feelin’ I’m gonna stay this way Your love is play VERSE Thank you for taking your chances On the girl who swore that she was through Because you chose me as your partner Baby I will take my chance on you CHORUS You swing me up higher (higher) You swing me up higher (higher) Ev'ry little minute of ev'ry single day You push and I’m higher (higher) Swing me up higher (higher) And I got a feelin’ I’m gonna stay this way BRIDGE Love was heavy on my shoulders I was standing still I was pushing boulders Up the highest hill Well now that hill is used for climbing and picnics in the sun Thank you for making love fun CHORUS You swing me up higher (higher) You swing me up higher (higher) Ev'ry little minute of ev'ry single day You push and I’m higher (higher) Swing me up higher (higher) And I got a feelin’ I’m gonna stay this way Your love is play

about

Faithfulness manifests in a variety of ways - trusting in the unseen, believing in yourself, maintaining optimism, being loyal. Tall is my favorite synonym for brave, proud, strong, confident. The stories told in this record reveal a serial of my personal journey through life, love and music. My greatest hope is that you find your own stories somewhere within. Thank you for listening!

Every artist is raised by a village, and I’d like to thank mine. Thanks to…

Jamie Candiloro for being an incredible, tireless, devoted producer and for shining the flashlight on my art. Happy trees!

Claire Friday of Friday Artists Management, my wonderful manager and the steadiest co-pilot in the skies. We did it!

Mark Winkler, my songwriting mentor, for helping me carve the marble and for his generous gifts of time, support and love. I love you, Mark!

Eric Heywood for his heartbreaking, breathtaking, mystical pedal steel magic.

Sean Watkins for the gift of his vocal talents, so stirring and moving. Sean, I can never find the words to say how much your presence on this record means to me!

Dani Moz for her killer background vocals. Dani, there is such strength, power and beauty in your voice!

Tom Rizzo, for his work co-writing “Secondhand Love,” and for his encouragement.

Julie Bolene for the gorgeous, hand-painted cover art she worked so hard to create.

Annie Booth for her wonderful graphic design and assembling the words you’re reading right now!

The talented Renee McMahon for the beautiful promotional photography for this record and my website, and for all of her hard work.

MP, KP, PP, LP, CP, CH, KB, IM, AR, and KE for supporting artists and purchasing art.

This record is sincerely dedicated to DL, EA, JW, JH, and JM for believing and investing in me. And most of all, this record is for my sister Abbey and my parents, Kathy and Marvin.
